Microsoft Warns on Windows XP Shutdown

Effective April 8, 2014, Microsoft will discontinue support for XP and Office 2003 - they will no longer provide regular security patches, technical assistance, or support.  Continued use of XP on personal computers and servers could create exposure to increased risk for identity theft and unauthorized transactions.  The Microsoft website has options and additional information.

Target has announced that any credit or debit card used in a Target store in the U.S. between November 27 and December 15 may have been compromised. The information that was stolen includes name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, and the CVV1 security code that is stored on your card’s magnetic stripe.

In light of this announcement, if you used your credit or debit card in a Target store during the time frame specified, it is extremely important that you monitor your account very closely. If you see charges that you don’t recognize, report them immediately to your branch.
